numbered spyderco?

i just picked up a new white micarta goddard off ebay and it has 044v printed on the blade next to the spyerco logo. is this like a special numbered model or what and if so how many were numbered.

Collector's Club number. The V indicates that it is a variation of an existing model. Fewer than 200 pieces of each new model or variation are so numbered. Several dealers have one or more CC numbers to ensure they get a few pieces of each new release.

does it add to collector value or shoud i go ahead and carry it?

It only adds to the collector value if you can find someone collecting that particular number. I have Hawkbill Ladybug 002V in my pocket right now.
