werent it abc&d for the quarters of the year maybe?
Both of my handles have B 05 on them, and my blade has S on the tang.
The B's, tell you that both the handle parts were made in the second quarter of '05 the S on the blade tells you that it is S30V.
I was also wondering about these markings.
One of my handles has A 06 and the other has B 05. If these markings indicate quarter and year then my knife has handles that were made at least 9 months apart.
All this numbering talk had me curious about what #'s were in my Sebbies: 1. Small Classic has C 04 inside both slabs, my small Night Sky Sebbie, has A 06 inside both slabs, and my large regular has A 05 inside both slabs. There are no #'s inside my Umfaan or Mnandi.
My Mnandi doesnt have numbers and that might be because of the wood and the fact that the wood has to match so they can't just grab two handle parts and put them together, like they could with the sebs.
Now my umfaan is different it does have a number. It is only on one side on mine. If you look by the back spacer on the non locking side that is where mine is numbered it is small but there, A97.
