I feel somewhat ashamed posting my work here, compared to all the other fine knives made by so many talented people. There are flaws with this knife, as expected, I suppose, on a second knife. My first attempt at producing a hamon thru diff hardening, and charcoal fires in daytime are tough to accurately gauge heat, so the full hardening didn't happen completely to choil/ricasso area. Lesson learned....building a forge is in the works. There is some frosting/tiny tiny bubbly pattern towards tip inside the hardened steel. Vinegar etch made it look worse, because I still don't know the secrets on how to polish the hard part differently from the softer portion. It sharpened like a dream. I've sharpened literally thousands of stainless knives...and there is NOTHING like nice carbon steel IMHO. It is a razor blade, not meant for chopping! Walnut TruOil sealed. 1080+ 7"OAL. .110" thick. http://s1321.beta.photobucket.com/user/stuartdavenport/media/SAM_1071_zpse8fcc1cf.jpg.html
