'Numzaan - just how big is it?

OK, I have decided that my next knife has to be a CRK folder.

Its kind of embarrassing being a S. African knife nut and not owning anything by Chris Reeve.

Now I have tried liking the Sebenza but its just too bland for my tastes.

The 'numzaan seems a better deal all round. I like the wavy spine and the large steel pivot.

Not so sure about the cross-hatch pattern on the scale, but I'm sure they add some grip so OK...

My only concern is that it looks a little small. I tend to favour big knives (full size Emersons most days).

Is this knife gonna be a little undersized compared to full size Emmies?

Nothing I hate worse than dropping large cash on a knife only to take it out of the package and go: "oh, is that it?"

I guess I'm asking to see some pics in the hand... something to give an idea of the scale of the thing...

Thanks!

From the specs on CRK's website, it looks like it should be right around the same size as a large sebbie. I don't know how that compares to a full sized Emerson, but I find them to be quite hefty.

If you look around this site I'm sure you can find pictures of full-sized sebbies in hand. That ought to give you a general sense of the size of the Umnumzaan.

Mark, this is what I would compare the Umnumzaan to in size. You can see that it has a better blade/handle ratio than the Manix and the SMF, and an even better cutting edge/handle ratio.

I have one on the way and I think it looks like a knife that will be fairly easy to carry.
Thanks for the comparison picture, I sure can relate it well to the F/G Manix.

I've got large hands, and the Um is about as large as a "pocket" knife can be and still be practical for everyday carry, and use. If you need one larger, It's probably time for a fixed blade 6"-8" bladed. Bart1

Correct me if I am wrong, but are those two Lumbert folders? You have great taste!

It is sad to say but I have never seen a full size Manix nor the Umnum in real live. The Um only arrived at our biggest importer about two weeks ago. That is hectic! Plan on flying up home in September, then strait to the shop that has the Um! Even tough I cannot aford it it is still nice to dream.

The Umnumzaan is probably one of the best finished production folders around, but the C95 Manix is a beast -like its sibling, the Chinook-, you have to hold one to understand. The SMF feels frail afterwards.
Probably the only other folder that I own that is so massive is the Lone Wolf T3.

Yeas they are. I was just putting it up there as a comparo pic. The Yellow one is a Framelock Inferno with G-10 overlay. The other is a Whar. OD canvas micarta bolsters and black canvas micarta handles
