I'm not sure if this is the right forum to put this under, but I was wondering if there's an instructional site for the nunchakus. Something like what this- www.balisongxtreme.com -is to balisongs, but for nunchakus

and yeah I know to go seek out a professional, so please don't suggest it.

and BTW, what would be a good pair of nunchakus to start out with? I might get a pair of foam ones just to be safe

I don't know of any sites on the Net dedicated to them.

I would suggest you get two pair of foam covered 'Chuks and two pair of Octagon with swivel, not ball-bearing action. They come in two basic sizes, 12 and 14 inch. Which size depends on the length of your arm and the individual feel you have for them.

Nothing teaches you so much as smacking the hell out of your knee, head or sac.

Good luck, watch your teeth too, they fly in all sorts of odd directions when you are starting out.

I don't recommend the foam ones, they don't feel natural and they flail around too much. Maybe they will work better if you put some wood inside them to give them some weight.
Anyway, they are cheap so why not try them out if you like.

My favourite pair is a heavyweight cocobolo wood 8 inch, with long chain.

Haven't hit my teeth, thank god I have long arms, but my head got hit sometimes when I lost the "flow"...
But my hands and arms has gotten hit a lot! And fingernails broken! Make sure you cut them short.
