So I had the opportunity to play with one at the store today and was very impressed with the overall feel of it. Seems like the perfect lightweight stainless fixed blade for hiking and general bushcraft, if thats what you're into. I was wondering who on here has one and how has it held up. Love to hear any hard tasks that you've put yours through too. I don't plan to do doing much battoning or other hardcore "abuse", but would like to know if it's at least capable of such tasks.

Also, I wonder how this blade would be in a higher line model; say a NW Ranger in VG-10 or 440C? Not sure if it would be worth SOG using that as opposed to the AUS-8. I have heard excellent things about SOG's heat treat on AUS-8, but no real time experience. I think it would be cool to see SOG take the design to the next level with a high end steel.

Thoughts?

I don't have one, but want one. :) IMO AUS-8 is good steel and SOG does a good job heat treating it. I would not be oposed to SOG making some out of a more expencive Stainless, though I would rather see them do a run out of Carbon steel like 1095CV (or what ever the 1095 Modified was that Western Used), SK5 or the like. A wood or stacked leather handle would be cool too.
