NW Ranger fit in a Seal Pup Nylon Sheath

I know some people complain about the leather sheath that comes with the NW Ranger. Since SOG sells the Seal Pup Nylon Sheath separately for $25, does anyone know if the Northwest ranger will fit in that Seal Pup sheath? If its not perfect can it be mod'ed

I tried my SOG Ranger knife in the Seal Pup's sheath and the knife is about 3/4" too long. I don't see any way of modifying the sheath to make it work.
