NWG Rotating Platen/Swivel Arm Multi-Tool Attachment

First I would like to thank this forum for all of the information. I hardly ever post but usually read the new threads to try and glean some information.

It's time to replace my grinder. My dad bought it from his friend about 25 years ago and it was probably used for 25 years before that. The wheel is no longer flat, it wobbles, the tracking is bad, and it can be used only for hollow grinding. I recently purchased the plans for the no weld grinder. I can't decide if I want to build the multi tool attachment with a 10 inch wheel and a 3 inch wheel or if I should build two separate attachments. The multi tool attachment seems like it might not be very solid. I don't know for sure as the pictures aren't the best quality so maybe I am totally wrong. Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated.

Tracy sells the entire NWG at USAKnifemaker now for $1200 or so. It comes with an 8" wheel, a flat platen and a set of small wheels. It's more than buying all the metal yourself, but the platen looks fairly sturdy. Wouldn't take much to beef it up if needed. Not a bad deal if there isn't a good metal yard close by.
