I have two Mtechn knifes, below 4" in length, that do not have springs, but little knobs that if you fling it the right way can go open in one shot and snap in place. Are these illegal to carry around concealed?

they are gravity knives and yes illegal. Let me guess you bought them at Tri county Flea Market?

THAT'S the million dollar question,........as a lot of the laws make absolutely no sense.

............basically because they SAY so. Manual opening knives can kill just as quick as a gravity knife,......and a gravity knive becomes a manually opening one if you tighten the pivot enough,......

Yes, why are they illegal though.

Mostly because they were declared to be as such.... Never mind that they don't work like an actual, Germany gravity knife.

"gravity knives" are illegal in NY and any knife that can be flicked open is a gravity knife. Nassau is no where near as bad as NYC in the strict enforcement of this understanding of the law, BUT as I stated a few times before a few months back I saw a teenager get arrested just for a gravity knife at the Broadway Mall.....

I hear you.... Still, it would be nice if the laws weren't so vague or if common folding knives weren't given the label of a gravity knife. I can flick open a Buck 110 with one hand. Guess if an officer sees me doing that, I might get arrested.
