I'm thinking about getting one, it will be mainly for hunting purpose, I was wondering how long the edge retention on this model with the cmps35vn is?

There has only been a couple steels I have tried that will make it 100% through cleaning and skinning and still be sharp afterwards... Any tests or guidelines people have used will be usefull, thanks...

The edge retention is AWESOME on Nyala, in my opinion clearly better than on Sebenza.

I have one, haven't used it for any serious cutting. I don't hunt either. I'm sure it would excel at skinning as it is such a fine knife. Still, the nicest and most functional-looking skinners I've seen are from Bob Dozier. Same price range, D2 steel. Edge retention might be better, might not be. D2 is "semi-stainless" if that matters, technically a carbon tool steel, but it does have awesome edge retention and is easy to sharpen. S35VN is supposed to be cutting edge, excuse the pun, cutlery steel on the verge of bridging the gap between stainless and carbon steels.
