Any of you kind gentelman know of any dojos in NYC currently offering knife fighting seminars/classes... Just got off the night shifts so I have evenings off and would like to combine my 6 years of martial arts with some blade play?
I work as a medic in the blyn south so that area would be even better? I may even get ivolved in private one on one class if there is anyone close by. Thank you. I've been reading your post with most interest in the last few months.

polak187, I am in Brooklyn and as far as I know no one is blade specific. The closest one I can think of is Ralph Mitchell in Canarsie. Then there's a JKD Progressive fighting systems school on 59 st and 5 ave. in Sunset Park I don't know if they are god or not. Ralph Mitchell however is excellent! but hard to find. I haven't heard anything about him in years. I believe there are some Kali instructors in Prospect Park but am uncertain where. You will probably need to hit Manhattan. Where you have Sayoc Kali, Pekiti Tersia Kali, JKD, as well as a few others. Good luck!

That's right! I think the Atienza's are at Fighthouse right?

Guro Allain Atienza has a class at the Fighthouse on thurs nights from 7-9.....Def worth checking out!

WR Mann teaches seminars frequently that are knife specific. You can get in touch with him through realfighting.com

IMO, both the Atienza's and WR Mann are quite capable and worth checking out. If you do, am interested in your opinion of them.
