Public service announcement. :D

Say hi to Pohan.

This show has certainly changed over the years, wish I was closer! Hope everyone has fun and brings something cool home!

Coop,

I didn't see Joe Szilaski's name on the list. He is usually in attendance. Will he and Lori not be there this year?

^^ Like you, it's always a pleasure seeing Joe & Lori Szilaski. However, I have no idea. We'll see.

What a great show. ESPECIALLY if you were into tactical knives. There was an ocean of black and camo t-shirts in the rooms, and almost everyone I talked to was pleased with their show.

Lotteries for many. That wasn't the only style selling well, however, they drew a fantastic crowd for this genre.

Susan and I had a really good time, too. I shot many knives, yet not so many I couldn't walk the show hall often. A rare and satisfying treat for me.

Went to Rumba Cubana restaurant in Union City, NJ with a couple we know, and I can't remember getting a more tasty mean anywhere!

Props to all that came by, and sorry if you missed us in passing. :)

The East Coast Custom show is coming up in Feb. Its right near where I live! Question about exhibits etc having never been to one of these. If I'm shopping for a custom or high end prod folder (Sebenza, XM-18, Fancy ZT, etc) will some of the "emporium" type exhibitors have these? Are there opportunities to purchase or is this more a "take orders" sort of show?

Hi.

There are opportunities to purchase knives - depending on what you want. At least the past couple of years, Rick Hinderer has been there and has brought several XM-18s . . . which were sold by lottery to great crowds out in the hallway in front of the exhibition room. I believe the prices were a bit lower than what you see in the aftermarket, so many folks flipped them right then and there, giving you more buying opportunities (for a higher price) if you didn't win one of the lotteries.

I do not know specifically about Sebenzas or "Fancy ZTs", but there are several custom folder makers there - again depending on your tastes. I know that in the past I have seen R.J. Martin, Brian Tighe and Strider knives, among others. it IS named "East Coast CUSTOM Knife Show," so I do not know how many of the mass production companies are represented. But these are not really the focus of my collection anyway, so it is not something I tend to notice. Hopefully some others will come along and post here and give you additional information.

Good question. As Ken allowed it IS a 'Custom' Knife show. However there will be plenty of vendors with quality production knives.

Neil at True North has a table which he keeps refilling with new semi-production and production knives. Always busy, always gratifying.

See you there!
