NYCKS and taxes?

It's been a while since I last bought a knife at a New York Custom Knife Show. Anyone remember if the makers/dealers charge sales tax there?

actually, they're forced to collect taxes when paid by CC cause there's no way of not reporting the income...

Depends. Final price is still set by the maker. Some, depending on how good a customer you are, will only run the price of the knife. It's happened to me quite often.

Indeed. Sometimes- "price includes sales tax". Discretion of the seller.

If they "do business" within the state of NY, they are required to collect the sales tax. If they don't, they are not required to.
