Just got my NYC knife show invitation today, a three days show. It is gonna be my very first experience to see a show as such and have couple questions coming to my mind.

Is it worth it to go for 3 day ticket? I mean isn't people gonna see the same things for 3 days??

Do I need to prepare money? Any knife maker will sell their knives during the show??

Are those knife usually proto type or final art?

If I don't have money to buy......Can I touch

Any other things i should know besides save more money until then.

Thank you.

The show is great. I find that I can see and buy everything that I want to with the one day pass. There will be all knids of custom makers selling all kinds of thier knives. I usually spend about 3-4 hours looking and buying while my family goes to the museum and then I meet up with them when I am done. NY is a great place for it, lots to do. Bring a pack.

yes, it is a great time. Every bloody year, it happens at the same time as my primary professional conference, so I can attend only rarely. But if you cna go, then do so-- and bring lotsa cash......

Brian Tighe is gonna be there. Would his Tighe Chee (what i have been thinking) sells less than $475? $475 is online listing price. Or is gonna be the same.

Hey, guys, I'm looking forward to this one, and seeing you all there. I usually go for one day, but this time I think I'll make it Friday and Saturday. I will try to remember to bring my Bladeforums nametag, so stop and say hello. (Fat old guy with a little bit of beard and a little bit less hair.) :D

Wuyeah, I'm afraid Brian will be selling those crazy knives for the regular price. But the chance to see and touch them is priceless. What beautiful work!

Most of the knives there are for sale, that's the idea of the show -- they don't want to have to carry all that metal home again. But you don't have to buy anything. I generally buy something, but I go there swearing I won't.

You don't have to register anywhere. Just show up at the door and bring money for the entrance fee and maybe a bite to eat later and carfare home! The knifemakers would love to sell you something, but they are also there to show off and talk to you and get you to understand what they have to offer.

Many of the hottest knives will be gone by Sunday, but there will still be a lot of good stuff to see. Circulate first, unless you have something specific you really, really want to buy. It's easy to get overwhelmed at first -- even for me, and I've been to a few shows already.

Glad to hear that tickets can be purchased at the door  I've seen ads for it but I don't remember seeing an address for the location. Can anyone help?

I will be there guarding Esav from the autograph hounds

be warned!

i will be there to make sure ron can reach the drinking fountain, and maybe get a second chance to pick up a polkowski neck knife (didn't bring enough cash last year) :grumpy:

My daughter will be marching in the Veterans Day parade, I'm gonna see if I can sneak away for a few to check out the show. :D

No, I already told you that I won't be able to make it this year!

:D

The site list of exhibiters and yes, they'll all be selling and cash is king. You can handle and chat with the makers, they're generally very nice, unless something went wrong and they're p/oed

Would don't it be dangerous for them, custom makers, to carry that much cash in these three days

 for justice!

I am offering myself to take some of their cash off from their shoulders. I don't want them to be in any kind of danger.
