Nylon Cord From K-Mart

I just bought a 225 foot roll of lightweight nylon line, colored bright Day-Glo red. It is about the diameter of stuff sold as "postal" twine and I figure it is about 50 lb. breaking strignth - my totally unscientific guesstimation. The small diameter makes it practical to carry 20-30 feet in even the smallest kits - seems like handy stuff to have. I found it in the hardware department of a local K-Mart, and the whole roll cost $2.29! The K-Mart guy said it should be available their other stores, but couldn't tell me if it was a stock item or a one-time purchase, so there is no gurantee that it'll be at your local store. But it is a great buy. Just thought I'd pass it along.

I believe what you have is standard masons line. You will find it in white at every hardware store in the country, and in a variety of colors in all most all of them. I always have several rolls around. I use it in my chalk lines and on my plumb bob as well as anywhere else a light line is useful. The price you paid is just about right.
