Nylon washers in Tomcat 3.0?

Hi-

Noob to BF here. I just got a Tomcat 3.0. Was looking it over and noticed that it appears to have nylon washers. It works *perfectly*, and is tight and rock-solid. Nothing wrong with the knife at all. It's just that i kind of expected phos-bronze washers in such a higher-end piece.

Is there a particular reason SOG used nylon washers? Are they the best for a knife this size? Or was it some other reason?

Am i wrong in thinking that phos-bronze are always better, smoother, and longer-lasting than nylon washers?

Thanks in advance for any feedback on the issue!

I don't see anything at all wrong with nylon washers. I was just surprised, since i'd kinda thought that phos-bronze washers were mo- primo that nylon. In the big picture it doesn't really matter as long as they work.

In the few knife kits i've built i've used phos-bronze, but the difference in the two is most likely all in my perception, because my new 3.0 works like a charm.
