I was poking around Polish Custom Knives today and noticed some relatively inexpensive fixed blades sporting NZ4 carbon tool steel. I can’t find any information online about it. Maybe it is what the maker’s(BM Knives) name for some steel from New Zealand? Does anyone know what it is?

So, a super tough, low wear-resistance ingot steel something similar to 5160, or at least that’s what I could gather from a quick look. Maybe it’s the Polish name for it-that would explain why I can’t find anything about it. Thanks! It looks like a pretty good steel for fixed blades.

PCK says it's A8MOD in their "Predator 5 Czekalski" model. Our maker
