O-1 for bigger blades

So far i've been using O-1 flat stock for blade no longer than 5"
I have some 1/4" O-1 stock and wanted to make a really large camping knife but remember reading somewhere (I think it was Cliff Stamp) that O-1 is too brittle for large knives. Is it true?

O1 works very well in large blades.

O1 is awesome for large camp knives. I use it all the time. A good heat treat and temper, O1 is tough.
