This is the latest off of my bench. It is a large all purpose knife made of 3/16" O-1. I made it for a forum member and promised a pic. by the end of the week. It has blaze orange, corian scales, with stainless hardware, and a hand stitched 7-8oz veg. tanned cow hide sheath, treated in bees wax.

I hope the knife meets and exceeds Hondo3's expectations.

Please let me know what you guys think.....positive....or negative feedback is welcome.

Edited, to add, sorry for the poor pic. Also I would like to thank Spearz, for giving me the name of this knife.

Thanks for looking
Nick:)

Looks as if it has great balance and good handle ergonomics in conjunction with various grips/holds. That's a nice knife and sheath from where I stand.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate your response. I don't want to sound like I am tooting my own horn but it really feels comfortable in the hand. I made the balance point at the choil notch which I think aids in ergonomics when a choked up grip is needed.

Hey I might need one of those? Very nice I really like it ;) How does the corian compare to micarta for feel and gripping?

I like the polish you put on that one!

Thanks Martin, Corian is not quite as grippy as linnen micarta. Although it really depends on how one finishes their handle material. I have seen and handled knives with wood scales that were extremly slippery. I hve not really had a issue with Corian as a handle material. I have field dressed a fair number of whitetails with my knives and have yet, to have one slip. I do wear rubber gloves when field dressing and butchering game, but I don't think that would make any difference.

That's AWESOME Nick!!! Of course I'd rather have it w/a Crimson handle versus Orange... :) I'm sure the user will enjoy.

Thanks guys, I had alot of fun making this one. I look forward to making another. One thing about the orange scales is, it sure will be easy to see where you last set it down.

Thanks again
Nick:)

that is a beautiful knife...love the handle material.

great for chopping i am sure.

Thanks fellas, I am glad you like it Tim. I'm confident this knife will outperform your expectations.

Nick:)

I think I'll PayPal this one. I don't think I can wait until a cheque arrives and clears. Can I just verify your e-mail address before I send funds out into the void?

I'm now wondering if my next assignment for you should be a Sportsman, or a 10-12" chopper. I don't really have a lack of chopping knives; I just want to see what you come up with.

Thanks Tim, I'll send it out on Monday. I can't wait to read your response.

Thanks
Nick:)
