You *GO* Mark! You should see the first real thing I made...a cast iron vise. Wait a minute...I still have it! Okay, next year's Khonvention, come on by! I'm sure that knife will serve you well for years!

OK, now you gotta FORGE number two, Mark.

You obviously got this part down.

Nice work.

Thanks everyone for the comments. I think that I have a while before I will be forging anything. I have a set up that will allow me to do some heat treating but I have zero idea about the hands on process of forging. Know the theory but that is about all. I do hope to make the next Khonvention no matter where it is held. This past one just wasn't possible for me. Danny it turned into a bit more of a fighter then I would have thought. The balance point is about a 1/4 inch above where the micarta ends. I am very interested to see how the S7 works out, I will keep everyone informed. If it is as tough as the numbers apply then a Khurk will be in order. I think that I could forge enough to get the bend in the blade and then stock remove the rest. Anyway thanks again.

Looks good, Mark :) --definitely has the lines of a fighter, but should do a pretty nice job on wood as well.

Nice lines, Mark. The 'creep' can be forgiven.
Is that front pin really raised, or is it just the picture?
BTW, you didn't mention the weight, did you?

Mark, my first knife was an object to be ashamed of as well as an object of pure scorn!!!!:(

Yours is neither. Well made my friend, well made!!!!:D :D :D :D  :D :D :D :D

Would you believe that it almost matches "the heaviest Kukri on the market" at 21 ozs. I was a bit suprised at the weight. The front pin is not raised it just looks that way in the pic. I have a different camera today and will get a better picture. I want to get one of the distal taper on the knife if I can. Thanks again everyone for the comments, it will make it even easier to go a grind some this afternoon. Mark

Added a couple of slightly better pics (use link at top I guess). Dan makes it seem so easy. Hopefully my picture skills will get better along with my knifemaking skills. Thanks everyone. Mark
