According to the latest research, people who suffer from chronic back pain are found to have a shrinkage of thier brain of 11%. Go figure. (Fitness magazine, April 2005)

Now add that to the research that said that mothers lose 33% of their brain with the birth of each kid and I have 3 kids.....I am like in real trouble. :D

Not to worry: that would be 33% of what's left, not 33% of the original size :D :D :p

That explains alot. But it sure feels like much, much more than 11%.  :)

So that explains what happened too my memory, and here I thought it was just because I was getting older.:grumpy: ;)

Those studies are brought to you by the same folks who gave 2 million dead brain cells per beer. My engineer father, not a heavy drinker, calculated he was into the negative brain category.

If one's brain 'shrinks', we should look at other factors. Back pain, or any other chronic pain issue, is linked to depression and lack of physical and mental activity. That is where this 'shrinkage' comes in. I'd just heard a similar number for depression, but the imbeciles writing these studies, and or their syncophants in the Press, are incapable of cross reference or much abstraction.

It stands to reason, for all of us shrunken heads, like myself, that God and Life are also forgiving; and if one tries and loves, I'll bet that brain gets bigger too.

Just another page in the, I don't trust Science Book.

Laughter opens your arteries.

Let me re-phrase: tests have shown a marked increase in blood flow after subjects had been laughing; speculation is the reduction of stress causes this. Your heart doesn't have to work as hard.

Brain shrinkage from back pain...brain shrinkage from beer...

I believe that I may have an actual anti-brain at this point. That would certainly answer some questions.

Science is just full of "truths" ain't it?:) I read an article that linked pointer finger shortness compared to ring finger length in men that correlated with aggression. Just who on earth would even THINK to measure 2 fingers to come up with an aggression scale. Quite odd to me. Possibly true, but this is coming from the same folks that once thought hysteria in women was caused by a wandering womb and earlier had proof that Africans and NDNs were really "just children or a more highly domesticated animal". You can't even trust your guts to be nothing more than sacs and tubes that keep your blood and juices going. Research has found that the human heart may actually hold memory cells. Tails of transplanted hearts causing the patient to "remember" things that they had never done before, but that the donor had. weird stuff. the more we know the less we know. Probably has something to do with the infinitesimally small/large thought i had some time back and color perception on an individual basis. Somethings we'll never know...i like that:)

All you little brains shouldn't feel bad. most of us use less that 10% of our brain anyway....actually, i think that's bunk too. We use the whole thing all the time and rewire it to work more efficiently when it undergoes trauma. But i do think that we use less that 10% of it's capacity. It really is a neat little universe in a candy coated shell.

Yeah, I always figured all this research was just to justify someones paycheck. After all how many years have they been writing fitness magazines and just how many ways are there to do squats  or lose weight  or just about anything for that matter. It all is just a rewrite of what has already been in place for years and years.....i think....but then this is coming from someone who is working with a seriously reduced brain compacity

Headlines date 2050:

After 75 years and $50 billion in research, researchers have concluded that the best way to lose weight is to eat right and exercise   :D

Perhaps we should form an anti-brain co dependence group.

"Hi!! My name is Jim and I have an anti-brain"

"HI JIM!!" replies the group...

I don't have a brain anymore. It was replaced with an old lemon with two wires that attach to my spinal column.

Makes me Zombie resistant. :D
