Did you ever notice that when you
really need the search function to find something timely that it screws with you. I swear this thing has a mind of it's own. I feel like Dwight Schrute when the computer starting sending him messages.
you just have to remember a word from the thread that is unique, or preferably mispelled. sometimes you can search a member's profile for either all posts (if they don't post much), or threads started by. some times you can even do a member profile search by remember someone who posted in the thread, rather then the topic starter.
if you can do that, in firefox at least "ctrl+f" will open the find search bar, and when you type in the word and press next, it will tell you wether that word is on the page.
so, if you know that jerry offered a badger attack at some point, you can search his thread started by list page by page, pressing "next" each time you go to the next page. it saves you from having to read each thread title, and I've found that it works okay.
but finding general information, like what's the difference between the batac le and batac se can be nearly impossible without knowing when it was posted, who posted it, or a very specific word to search for. thus, even haggard time worn forum member's who have seen the very dredges of the archive lake still occasionally have to start a thread asking a stupid question
