O.T. It's liable to be a long winter.

Oh Peter, you're all doom and gloom.

I have enough left over handle material to heat the house for days.

Steve

PS what does burning a blend of antler/micarta/stabilized wood smell like?

Hair! :D :D :D

Oh Peter, you're all doom and gloom.

I guess I am sometimes Steve and I sure hope I'm wrong. I just feel like the fellow with his leg trapped under a tree. It doesn't matter how hard you pull or how loud you yell, sooner or later you have to either cut that leg off or die!

My natural gas supplier raised my budget 60% three months ago. When I called to ask why, they said there was without a doubt going to be a significant supply shortfall this winter and they were preparing now.

Now, this stuff is domestic and/or NA-continental. My question then is "why?" Sure smacks of "planned shortfall" to me.

The Ceo's are expecting bigger bonuses every year. Stockholders are demanding higher returns on their investments. That's why everything is moving overseas. Pretty soon the little man (consumers) arent going to be able to buy any more crap from these asholes that are inflating prices. I wonder what rich "long-pig" tastes like ?

Ah, yes, now I understand. On Ray's "Explanation of Life" thread I asked how God accounted for the jackasses.

I forgot...CEO's!!!! :grumpy:

The ONLY thing rich people are afraid of, is hungry poor people. ;)

The first laws against humans eating horsemeat came about early in the depression when poor, hungry people were starting to riot, and were talking about killing, and eating the horses of rich people in the NYC area.
The laws were passed with record speed.;) :D

Long pig, the other white meat!! Yum, yum!!;)

Drill Anwar.

Natural gas is way overextended, the proven reserves are falling, it's going to get tighter. This summer vaccation in New Brunswick the talk was all about 30 liquid natural gas harbours being planned for construction for the NB, NS, and Maine coasts. I don't think the gas shortage is a mirage.

30!!!

It's not for local consumption...

Don't know about the natural gas, but after Ivan the offshore oil industry took a beating. One of our rigs had to drag there BOP and riser on bottom to run from it because it was too rough to pull, anouther couldn't get a tow and had to be evaced-it wend through the eye of Ivan and was later found 75 miles off location with a sever list. My ship got out without damage, but it took nearly a week longer to get back to drilling. That's just our company, I don't know how much damage was done to the other's, but have seen a pic of a jack-up with the deric torn off and the legs ripped out.

Doesn't look good for the gas pumps that's for sure. Makes you wonder what ever hapened to 2001, where's my atomic car and space odessy?
