O.T. Jessica update, Thursday, July 14th, 2005.

Well gang Stella called yesterday with the news that Jessica is back in the hospital. :grumpy: She has another abcess in her stomach as well as other problems.
The Drs were going to try and do a rectal exam today, she has about 7" left so a reconnect could be made if possible, to see if the material left would accept a reconnect but I don't know if they got to it because of the other problems, were also going to drain the abcess IIRC.
Stella told me so much it was hard for me to retain it all.:grumpy:
Also the Drs were going to try and get her stabilized over the weekend in order to do a reconnect on Monday if at all possible.
If it isn't possible it means that Jessica will have to wear a bag the rest of her life.
Jessica just turned 14 a few days ago.
What really bothers me is that this is the very first time that Stella has told me, "Dad, it isn't looking good for Jessica right now."
It also bothers me that I'm not able to travel right now if it even became necessary for me too.
I know it's hell to put one of your children away and can't imagine what it's like to put a grandchild away, I hope I don't have to find out, Ever.

Stella said she would call me Monday to let me know what's going on...

On a positive note, children are a lot tougher and more resilient than we grown ups. They manage to pull off amazing recoveries. Let's hope that such is the case here. She's already proved that she's a little fighter. That's a big part of the battle. Another plus is that she is surrounded by love. So are you bud. Take care.
