I love Ebay! Where else can you find pieces like this that are affordable. Advertised as a "Vintage Grain Cutting Knife" I found this very nice Lohar pick. With a 5.5" blade with copper inlays and a bone and horn handle it has brass over steel side plates. Weight is about 16 ounces. It was just a little rusty, but no pitting and no damage at all. The washers over the pivot point, which are teardrop shaped on one side, and round on the other are painted with mustard yellow paint. Lockup on the blade is amazingly solid. Opening and closing is very smooth both on the blade and handle. The blade is dot engraved with pinwheels, "plus" signs, and a standing man on both sides. Even if this is a tourist piece (I don't know that it is), it's one of the most fun ethnic pieces I've ever bought! Can you tell that I like it? Here are some pics.

Steve?

That is SO cool.

I've seen others which were of the same design, but never one in such excellent condition. Nice purchase!

I'm thinking you are going to have add a room to the house, with appropriate safe-guards*, for the edged tool collection you have.

Congratulations.
