Guys,
I have a Pewter flask my wife bough me a few years ago. During its travels (not only from pocket to lips ;) ) it has gotten a bit squashed in the middle. Can anyone think of a way to 'pop' it back to shape?

You could make an X with a loose rivet in the middle, close it so it's a straight bar, stick it in the mouth, and open it back into an X so it pushes open from the inside. Depending on how thick it is, you might need the handle ends of the X to be pretty long to get enough leverage. Actually, depending on the size of the flask, and what tool selection you have available, you might be able use pliers or tongs.

Thanks for the imput so far guys, I think the cross is a good one but the neck of the flak is pretty small. I was thinking of using a balloon and a hand pump to pop it back to shape, although its doubtful I can get enough pressure without bursting it.

Firecracker?

Not subtle enough Mark....Lets see, dented flask recipe;

3 tbl charcoal
2 tbl sulfur
1 tbl saltpeter

Shake well, drop in a match.

Instant dent removal

When I was a youngin I used to collect beer cans. I would fill them with water and put them in the freezer. When the water froze the ice would expand and push out the dents.

I was thinking the same thing Mark. It's brilliant. Not as much fun as the firecracker or gun powder, but more productive! ;)

Mark....you notice that my suggestion was OK... :eek: :D :p

LOL I froze it but nothing much happened. I guess I will have to switch to the overproof Bundy Rum to make up for the reduction of volume :)

It will work. It has to be completly full and you may have to do it several times. If it is not full it just expands to the air space.
