Like khukuris aren't enough. Phillipine knives share some characteristics with khukuris. Forged with minimal equipment, use of scrap steel, natural materials. All of mine except for one knife are chisel ground with a convex edge. Hope the link works.

Very nice stuff,I like the one on the far right especially.

Thanks Rick,
I think the one on the right, and the one at the top are from Luzon. The two bolo in the middle are from the Visayas, probably the island of Panay. The bolsters and handles on all of them have a roughly octagonal cross section. They all feel great in the hand.

Steve,

That bottom one looks like it was snatched straight from my fertile imagination....

Yummy.

WAY Cool!!! Where do you find these things?

Favs - Far right, the bottom cutlass and the second from the top on the left...whew!

I like the topmost 4, and the rightmost 2 the best.

I don't want any of these. Where can I get them?

Sigh. They're beautiful, Steve. Do they need a home?

It sometimes works if you right-click the red x and then choose Show Picture.

Sometimes it don't.

Donuts, that is a sweet blade for the change!

Nice stuff Steve! Congratulations! Good collection.

That second one down is a fantastic antique! could be sharper than a razor with edge geometry like that as well!
I Realy like it!

Bottom one looks a damn good weapon as well, Apart from the CP it looks like other names or something on the blade is that engraving or something?

cheers,
Spiral

DR these red Xs can't even be cut and pasted. Are they in a private file? I made that mistake a while back.;)

Oh well, as long as the hyperlink I posted with the red Xs works, I was just linking those same pics.

I haven't yet photographed my own blade (each one of those Mr. Harris brought back with was unique -- with more individual variation than typical HI khuks despite the fact they were all made by the same person). Mine looks very similar to the one posted, however mine has very pronounced finger notches that perfectly fit my hand (I checked all available blades before choosing it).

oh man, valiants bosnian damascus knife is really damn beautiful.
when i get out of debt over the odachi, that will definitely be on the list!!

Danny, the Valianco has a myriad, bevy, bountiful excess, of beautiful sharp thangs!!!!:D
And their quality is said to be pretty good as well, a huge Plus!!!!:D

Hollowdweller, that's a nice one!

Spectre, I don't know what the CP stands for, but I've seen several Philippine blades stamped with 2 letters. Maker's mark?

Donutsrule, That is a beautiful sword.

Spiral, the second one down is my first, and my favorite.

Thanks guys.

Steve
