This is more for Foxy than everyone else, but I thought some of the new peeple;) here, and possibly some of the old ones, don't know how to pronounce my NDN name.
I guess it would be easier if I used my Yonegi name here, but I don't hear it spoken enough anymore to hardly answer to it as most folks I know call me Yvsa.
Besides that I don't like to be called "***" To me it's almost as bad as "Two Dogs F******".
Soooo that leads me to another special visit to my b-i-law's place and to post this:)...............

Barb answered our phone this morning about 9:15 our time, Central Daylight Savings Time, and told the person they had the wrong number without thinking first.
As soon as she hung up she told me, "I think I just fouled up a phone call for you." and told me why. Barb said the person was asking for Eesah or something of the like and then happened to think that someone may have been trying to ask for Yvsa.
So if anyone from the forums tried to call me this morning(Foxy?) you had the correct number, just the wrong pronounceation of Yvsa.
Gang, it's pronounced Yuh(n)suh, in Cherokee the letter "v" is pronounced "uh" and almost, probably, everyone in the North American Continent knows one Cherokee word, Uh-Uh for yes and that's the way it's said in Cherokee except it's spelled "vv" in my language.
Actually Yvsa is Cherokee Slang for Ya(n)asa
(English meaning "Buffalo") with the letter "n" being more a nasal twang and only slightly heard. The closest almost all people can get that doesn't know Cherokee is Yuhs Suh and I will answer to that and more importantly my Dear Mate Barbie will recognize it.;) :p
So if you called this morning try back tomorrow, if we're not there in the morning leave your name and number and I will call you back as Friday is generally a workout day and I've missed way to many workouts the last couple of weeks.:)

As to my health...... Gang it's really much better than it was even if I've had a few bad days lately. But thanks for the good wishes, They are Appreciated!!!!
I've dropped a total of 60 pounds since I started first on the Atkin's diet and then switched to my present diet program!!!!:D Got 75 pounds to go.
When our kid and grandkid's came in from Pennsylvania on a
SURPRISE VISIT!!!!
two weeks ago I was able to walk most of the public animal trail's out at our Tulsa Zoo. And although I did get a bit too hot at the end and Barb had to get me a ride to the front gate I did real good and was fine the next day.
We all really enjoyed the new African Penquin Exhibit!!!! It's so new that none of us had seen it before.
Then the weekend before that we spent from Friday about 2:00 p.m. until late Saturday afternoon with our son and his wife Deb down at Tahlequah, the Headquarter's of The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
We saw the Trail of Tears Drama at the Cherokee Ground's Friday night and then went on a tour of the Living TsaLaGi Village Saturday. Had some mighty fine eatin' and of course some Excellent BBQ and the kids got us a really nice suite at the Holiday Inn there.
So, I've been getting my share of exercise in other ways, but still need the regimine and discipline of the health club.;) :D

Edit:
Well while I was posting this Foxy sent up smoke signals via satelite (Cell phone) and was asking about the Foxy's Follie. I'm gonna do the same mods to it I would've had it of really been mine and then send it on to him.
That means that I will get the first one of the next batch.
I'm really pleased that Foxy wanted this first example as he is entilted to it.
I'm happy to have received the very first examples of the YCS and The Cherokee Rose and it's only right that the designer get the first example!!!!

Bill, please make note of the above in bold. Now that I've got to handle the very First One I can hardly wait!!!!
But if there's a few that comes in at once I would like the lightest one of the bunch.

Yep it was me. Being hearing impaired and wearing hearing aids I'm likely to mispronounce a lot of things. I'll work on it :footinmou :footinmou

and here is YVSA written in Devanagari script for all the Nepali speakers here:

;) :D

( I figured about an approximation for writting yvsa's name in devanagari for giving a 'nepali name' to the YCS on HI site, i.e.:

)

Yvsa, thanks for sharing that with us. It's good to hear from you. Glad you're doing well, and now we all know how to pronounce your name! And the name of the khukuri you designed :)

Hey, Yvsa, good to hear from you. I always wondered how to pronounce your name. Gotta say my best guess wasn't even close:footinmou
--Josh

All this time I was one of the ones who would have guessed it was pronounced "Eevsah." :footinmou

Congrats on the weight loss, and best of luck on the rest you want to drop.

Good to hear from you Yvsa! :) My mind's ear always heard "Yive-suh"...don't ask how I hit upon that.

That is quite an accomplishment! I could stand to shed one or two pounds myself.

Good to see you too, donut! :) Maybe I've been reading the wrong threads, but I haven't run across you for awhile.

And I thought I had it after my visit a few months back.
I would have sworn that you told me Ah-Suh with
an emphasis on the 1st syllable & a dropping tone at the end.
Did I just miss the Y at the start?
Sorry.
Is there a common word it sounds like?
Your description here of Yuh(n)suh just doesn't track with my memory at all.
Although I have great difficulty remembering peoples' names,
I've always tried hard to pronounce them properly.

Foxy I wouldn't have known if you hadn't said anything. I thought you did just fine.:) It was our lousy phone/satelite connection that was messed up. Not you.:D

I've lost a lot of my hearing in my left ear and some in my right one due to 35 years working in a noisy machine shop without any hearing protection. Guess it would come out to about 28 years because the last 7 years they furnished ear protection.
It's really a difficult situation as I don't hear the higher sounds such as the female gender of humans speak with.
I'm really glad Barb has a deeper voice than most. I wish she would sing more than she lets me hear as Barb has a very beautiful whisky tenor voice and that's without drinkin the whisky.:D

I'm still here, work sometimes takes me away from more valuable things, though.;)

Yvsa, Good to hear things are going well. Good for you with your weight, I can't even start taking it off.
What part of PA do your kids live in, Justright and I are in SW PA.

Good news on the health front. Keep up the good progress. I am trying to lose a few mself and is great to hear other peoples successes.

Thanks Gang!!!!
I'm still about to go nuts without my computer, but will be able to kick butt when my new one does come in.;)

Red, the kids are up in Warren PA, the NW part and about 80 miles from Erie.:D
Most of Barb's brothers and sisters are strung out around Warren, over in Pittsfield and Corry with a few being in Clarendon.
I was the luckiest man alive when she finally decided to leave there and come to Oklahoma.:D
We'll be hitched up 15 years this Sept 1st.:D It's been really good, just like I knew it could always be, but hadda helluva time getting here.;)

Don't take Yvsa seriously - last I remember on this subject he'd just said:

" Call me anything you want, but just don't call me late for supper!"

PS: 8-1-81 to 8-1-03 for us. Think that makes 21 and still counting.
