So,I picked up a small fixed blade in O1 steel for my EDC knife, used for cutting boxes rope string,to cutting wood literally anything I ask of it. My question is, at 62 HRC how well will this hold an edge? its built pretty hefty like a mini chopper. Will I need to sharpen it after every use?

Sounds high for 01, just my opinion so anyone correct me if have different idea, so I would be careful not to be too rough on it, may chip the blade, stay with slicing.

Depends on the grind and angle. Just try out carefully how far you can take rough work with it. You can always sharpen it back up if the damage isn't too bad.

From what I have seen a lot of O1 is ran to soft for my liking, I don't think you can get a good idea of what O1 can do until you use it around 60-62.
