O1 Integral Knife

Hi again,
This, I did make last knife. Integral type.
O1 steel, total length 230mm. Handle is 105mm, (ironwood on the mother-of-pearl inlay work.) max thickness is 4.5 mm. Hardness 59HRc

Real nice! I especially like the design, texturing and inlay. Anyway I'm a sucker for integrals.
 
how do you make that? to get a guard like that do you start with a really thick piece of steel and grind down to get a thinner blade and leave the guard thick? or do you forge it like that? great work!
 
It's okay you know only know a little English. A picture is worth a thousand words. Beautiful looking knife and I really love the look of the inlay. :thumbup:

At the beginning, I forge it the main form. After, I grind the knife generally.
