First, thanks to all who gave advice on this project. The material and heat treating info you shared made this project a success.

Handle 1/4" micarta
Material 3/16" O1
OAL 13.5"
Blade 7"x 4"
Triple quenched and triple tempered at 385f.

I tested the blades by cutting through pig backbone, crosscut and length wise.
No damage and would still shave through paper on an edge cut.

Still have to do a bit more on the surface, but will deliver tomorrow.

Your comments/critiques are welcome as always .

I've made 2 almost identical in concept to yours for a work colleague who is a deer hunter and I can attest that they work really well. I'll bet that cleaver would double as a small camp axe too !! A very useful outdoors tool.

Minor correction on your specs - I think you mean "triple tempered" at 385F.

Nice stuff. Jason.

Nice job Mike :D Glad to see these going to use buddy! I bet those filled your forge up ;)
