Oakley T wire's- or what Rx frames do YOU wear?

Does anyone out there own a pair of the new model Oakley Titanium frame sunglasses? I think that they look like a good platform to install prescription lenses in and use as a pair of bombproof eyeglasses. They should be light, tough, and have temples that will never get "loose" and I think that they may be my solution to a set of glasses that will serve me through long work shifts/sports/hunting, etc.

Anybody have experience with these- or have a good secure set of frames to recommend?

My first Rx glasses were in B&L Shooter frames because I have been wearing B&L sunglasses since the 70's. Last time my Rx changed they had discontinued the Shooter so I got the Outdoorsman. The Shooter is back, so that is what my new ones will be. I also have my bifocals put in the top so that I don't have to tilt my head back to see the front sight on my pistol.

I've had my Oakley Juliets (X-Metal) with RX lenses for about a year. Very Sturdy with fantastic optics. A little pricey, but I have no regrets

I can highly recommend "Accuflex" Flexon Titanium Frames...
The only truly industructable pair of glasses I've ever owned.
They never take a different "set" than the factory shape.
You can twist, bend, fold, and mangle all you like... and they pop right back into shape. I have personally sat on them, stepped on them, even slammed the case (with glasses) in the car door... only replaced the lenses once in 3 years of abuse... the frames still look like new..! Very few things I can name that are this tough.

I wear the Air Titanium frames made in Denmark. They have a couple of dozen colors and a book of lens shapes almost two inches thich. Pricey but I haven't lost the frames off my face in three years. Lots of options. The wife had a pair and switched to the Kawasaki (sp?) frames. real close but different choices.

They are comfortable and light. Not as light as the thin ti wire frames out there, but ther is something about oakley styling that made me want them.

My B&L Shooters and Outdoorsman script are now retired after I got a pair of Ti framed Prescription bi-focal shooting glasses from Lehman Optical in Arizona. The lenses are plastic, changeable, light and extremely comfortable. Lehman sells at all the state trap meets. My next pair will be polarised with mag inserts for fly fishing. -Dick

I wore B&L shooters glasses with Rx lenses for several years. Last year I started wearing bifocal lenses. I went with the Bolle Parole glasses-interchangeable lenses and a Rx insert. Advertised as being used by the U.S. Army Rifle Team. They are pretty good looking glasses. I wear them with the dark lenses mostly. Very comfortable sunglasses. I'm still getting used to the bifocal lenses with a rifle scope though. I bought mine at SKD Tactical (www.skdtac.com).

Jim, can you further describes how the insert system works. I also noted that the Patrol was not reaccamended if your hat size was 7.5 or greater. The Lehman's are very light due to plastic script lenses and need no inserts. What is the weight of the Patrol with insert. thanks-Dick

Dick, I talked to Joe at SKD before I bought my glasses. He was very helpful. I also had questions about which size to order. The insert holding the Rx lenses sits behind the curved lenses, and fits into a slot in the frame above the nose piece. Very easy to pop out and clean. The Rx lenses in my glasses are polycarbonate bifocal lenses. I also like the ability to change the outer lenses (yellow lenses on overcast days, and dark lenses on sunny days). The entire setup is very light and durable. I like them alot.

One frame you might want to consider if you've got an oversized noggin (as I do), is the Oakley XX. They look just like the Juliet but they're scaled larger. I've got a pair of the nonprescription lenses and they're the only sunglasses that fit my face halfway decent that I've ever found.
