Mike Obenauf I'm talking about........again!:D I guess when you got it together and produce as good a product as Mike does you are going to get talked about a lot!

Just got an email last night that my large model 2 framelock is about 2.5 to 3 weeks away from being done.:D  Now that is cool. This one is going to be "heavy-duty", like they aren't heavy duty to start with, with a thicker blade, scales and a steel backspacer. Should be darned near indestructable!

I had ordered this one back in September and had talked Mike into having it ready before Christmas since it is going to be a present. Of course it is a present from me to me! I figured I had been a good boy this year and deserved something really special. I'm sure you folks would agree!! :D ;) :)

Just heard from Mike again and the knife is almost ready to ship and will be ready to ship on Thursday of this week! Will ship out Thursday and be in my hands on Friday!! This is looking like a good week, as Friday at 12:00 PM my 7th graders go home for the start of Christmas break and don't return until Jan. 6th!! Hey this is looking like a GREAT week.:D  :)

WOWEE!!!   This thing is AWESOME. It is perfect! There is not a thing I would change. I don't even need to go inside to polish things up like I normally do. It is perfect! The blade is S30V and a dropoint/spearpoint just like others you have probably seen. It is .156" X 3.75" and sharp as that proverbialy razor. Handles are .148" thick and have some awesome grinding on them. Can't do pictures but maybe Barry H. will come along and post up a pic of his because the handle grinds are the same. The frame lock comes over about 1/3 on the blade tang and it is a perfect lockup with no movement in any direction and no movement of the lock bar either. It has just enoug stick to it to let you know lockup is acheived but not too much to hinder closing. The whole knife weighs in at 6.6 ounces due in part to the steel backspacer and that 6.6 ounces feels oh so solid in the hand. I mean this knife is just perfect! :D  :D :)

Well, I'd like to post a pic fo ya, but I am a lowly basic member so I can't. And I would get in trouble if I left a hyperlink here at BF. But if you're inventive, I bet you could find out what I'm talkin' bout;)

Months without an Obie framelocker coming up for sale and all of a sudden TWO in two days! Well I got lucky and snagged one of them:D as I had to have a partner for the one I got on Friday. Best part is I think it will be styled a little different as I think the one from Mike was a newer handle grind...I think.
