Ok, guys, it's that time again. What are y'all planning on doing with your dividend?

Apparently, I got way behind on my usual splurging at REI and mine was less than $10, so I have decided to replace a few of my camp utensils and such.

So...what are y'all doing that is less boring?

Oh...nobody cares about your politics, so keep it out of this thread. If you feel the need to express your opinion of REI's politics, please, play chicken with a semi instead.

I love dividend time, but I guess I didn't buy too much from REI this year either, I only got $5 :grumpy: I have my eye on a few small things like a new Nalgene or one of the really little headlamps. So I'll have to throw a few more bucks their way.

i normally find the same things at REI cheaper some where else. i rarely shop there anymore.

I don't think I've spent any money at REI since last summer when I used my last dividend.
Froze my 'ttocks off in the mountains in VA riding in the rain and fog. Before turning around I went into the REI in Asheville and picked up a smartwool-type long-sleeve turtleneck to go under my jacket liner. Put it on in 85deg, full sun, covered it with insulation, armored jacket, etc. Hot. And Happy. I was very pleased that my dividend cut the price in half - those things are spendy, but it was THE RIGHT TOOL, and I needed it.

Just got my membership and picked up a REI CRESTRAIL 70. Couldn't be happier with the product or service I get while shopping. Haven't gotten the check yet but I'm eyeing that UCO(?) double nest hammock and Slap Straps.

I think I have $20... And you can find things cheaper other places, but they have a great selection.

I think I want to put that towards a pair of ski's when they finally get on off-season clearance. The trick is not to miss it cause they usually sell out FAST.

I think mine will only be a few bucks. I'll probably get a base layer for my girl. Keep her warm and she'll keep me warm...

If you know what I mean.

Mine says I've got $11.98. Think I'll get me another one of them platypus wine bottles. I've used the one I've got for about 2 years & it's awesome in the fridge!

Mine will be about $220 (and no, I didn't buy much of anything at REI this last year, but I use an REI card for all purchases that I would normally pay for with a check/debit/cash, and pay it off each month, paying no interest but earning dividend with each purchase).

I need new running shoes, and I will probably get a pair of Merrell Trail Glove, too. I am at the point now where all of my gear is as good as or better than anything that REI sells, so I don't buy backpacking gear there any more. Some years I take my wife and let her get something (she has a pair of Merrell cross trainers and Keen light hikers that she got with my dividend a few years ago).

Awesome! I didn't even start shopping at REI until one opened up late last year. I had no idea about the dividends until I saw this thread. Mine are just over $65. I just started hiking last year and went there to gear up for some of my stuff. I need new shoes, but I could also use some new pants, as I've lost about 40 lbs recently. Not sure, not sure. I'll have to see what tomorrow brings.

Good point about the REI card. I might have to give that a shot.

$221.09! I may put it towards a comfort bike or accessories for my old bike.
