Hi everyone.

I've been lurking for about a year, but since I handled a small seb(a knife I had no interest in at the time) at the NY show in Nov I've been studying this forum like I should've studied in college. I must have read every sebenza post ever written.

Obsession ruled.
"I have enough knives"
"I don't need a $300+ knife"
etc., etc., I'm sure you know the drill.

Anyway,I broke down and ordered a small Classic on Mon and it arrived this afternoon.
I'm more impresed than I thought I'd be(and that's really saying something, you guys set the bar pretty high).

Thanks for talking me into it.

I wonder what'll be next?
Please let it be cheaper.

Jarndyce,
Welcome to the forums, and welcome to the land of the Sebenzanistas.
I did the same as you, read all the posts on Sebenzas, here and at Knifeforums, and since then have had six of them plus a Umfaan.
Life is great.

Welcome to the Forums. The first couple of scatches on the Ti will bother you. After a few dozen the knife takes on a certain "character." Congratulations, as you probably already figured, you made a good choice.

Welcome to the sickness. We all started that way. Unless you are incredibly wealthy or maybe even more so if you were or are, you would want to make sure your $300.00 + knife is worth it. Believe me, you get a lot more than a knife when you buy from CRK. You get the services of a great group of dedicated people that want to make sure that you get what you paid for and then some. You have a knife for life. It won't wear out in a couple of years. You can scratch it up and bang it up and in a couple of years send it back for a refinish and for a very modest fee CRK will make it like new. I have a couple of customs and I can honestly say that my Sebenzas are nicer than most customs. The wood inlay is the tops in my books. I am partial to the small as it fits nicely in the pocket and is sheeple friendly. I think you will like your knife more every day. A little advice for the charachter marks that you will get on the titanium. Lightly buff with Scotchbrite (the green pad that you use to clean pots and pans with) and the marks are gone. I could go on and on but its nighty nite time. Welcome to the club, you made a wise choice that you will not regret. Well, you may want a large and the Umfanns are soooo cute and the new gentlemens knife is pretty cool and of course you will need a fixed blade one-piece and maybe a decorated one and a wood inlay etc. ect. ect. BG-42 blade is hard to beat and the damascus is so beautiful. Here I go again on and on. Bridget is a dear. Chris is a true gentleman and a lucky man to have a wife like Anne. Okay I'll stop (slap!) Bye!

Congratulations Jarndyce on your first Senbenza! May this one be the first of many. Sebenza Rules my friend. Aloha

Welcome Jarndyce
This is a knifeborne illness that some of us have. I think it is transmitted by touch or maybe titanium is addictive. Enjoy!

Yes ..Welcome is right..that is just your first CR knife..prob a large is next ,,then one of his fine fixed blades. And if you get on the phone now.. prob still time before the list for the 7.5 and 4" Kathathu are filled up. get one of those for sure. limited edition....I started with a Mark V from South Africa about 14 years ago..then Chris came out with this ZULU folder, I haveone of the first..been carrying it for close to 10 years now. #H10 I just sent it back to shop for first time just for a clean up on the blade edge. My years of sharpening were not the kindest to it....any way The large Sebenza is my favorite. I just got a new one in the mail TODAY!!!! from tallpaul also a 5.5 Kathathu YES, sweet blade. So along with my project II,2 large Sebenzas, 2 small sebenzas ( my Dad got one of em) lets see now...hmmmm...Seven CR knives and counting........Enjoy the Obsession!
