I just received an Ocaso Solstice from Ocaso directly - I handled it at Blade Show Atlanta and finally got around to picking one up. It's a gentleman's style folder designed by none other than Andrew Demko who is normally known for knives at the other end of the "hardcore" scale. This one is a little special because I wanted the black clip and black liners, but I wanted a satin blade. Ocaso did the swap out within a day and I received it in 3 days all the way to Singapore.
Nice flipper action, super light with the carbon fiber scales (which I'll probably sand to matte finish) and a slim sharp blade. I find that many non-knife people react to black blades and wide blades. It shouldn't matter but this Ocaso Solstice is very inoffensive in looks, looks like like a classy steak knife or executive letter opener! Admittedly they are on the slightly pricier side ($210 for the carbon fiber handle, $230++ for titanium and engraved models) but if you need something that is sheeple friendly that doesn't weigh down your pockets, and very well made (in Taiwan) this is hard to beat. I'm kinda over carrying 5oz+ knives with 4" blades... different stage of life
And to top it all off, comes beautifully packaged and a hand written note from the founder!
