Haven't come across one yet, but even without holding one I wanted to pass along praise for this design. From a purely aesthetic design standpoint, this is is probably the sweetest looking tactical handle design I've seen from Kershaw. Whomever came up with the spider/web handle design along with the blade/logo, opposing black handle slab etc etc, really nailed it... and is obviously very talented. I want one more and more, every time I see it.

Compare to the the HD stuff over at BM, there's no comparision.

Great job!

It's a great design. I'm not a big Leek fan, but this one is sweet! Very tasteful, as this type of design could come off like crap. But as usual, Kershaw did it up right!

How could you not like the Leek's? They are by far the best looking, and overall best Kershaw folders!

I don't know about all that. I like my Leeks alot, but I don't think by any stretch of the imagination it is Kershaw's best folder. Maybe for the price?? I'd take an Offset over a Leek any day. That being said, I want one of those Leeks for my collection. I think I've seen them at TheBladeShop. Off to go get one now.

Best design on a handle.... not talking about best folder

Tony, you'd better do some research at the Good, Bad and Ugly forum before you place an order with them...I'll see if I can find the link...

Buyer Beware! NGK (New Graham Knives, www.newgraham.com) is a stellar seller!

Welcome to the forum!

First, I think the Leek is a great knife...just doesn't "do it" for me. My favorites are MY NEW JYD II CB, the Cyclones, ENER-G's and Blurs. Just me. That's why Kershaw makes more than one model knife.

But as with all Kershaws, the value for the dollar spent, innovations, fit and finish and CS they're all great knives!

(You haven't seen the ZT line yet, have you...)

I believe the spider theme was from the spider bike that OCC built
on one of their episodes. Very cool.

Oh, and would also like to add to SPX's remark about THEBLADESHOP.
That place has a horrible rep here, and that's not just from 1 person but many.
Steer clear and buy from somebody you can trust, someone the Kershaw
forumites would recommend.

The OCC Leek is truly a class design!

Just an FYI with respect to The Blade Shop...

I'd been cutting them some slack over an order placed on March 1st that included a composite-bladed Leek that they just couldn't get in and kept delaying on and blaming on Kershaw. As these have been readily available for weeks elsewhere, and they were still claiming weeks more minimum to get one, I finally cancelled this Monday and went elsewhere (still no account credit, though...and they charge immediately whether they have an item in-stock or not along with no differentiation on their site of out-of-stock or in-stock items).

I've ordered successfully from them in the past, but they're awfully hit-or-miss. :(

Again, just an FYI...

Well I never have had a problem with TheBladeShop on any previous occassions so all this that I'm reading is unjustified for me. All I can say is sometimes $hit happens and things get screwed up. It just hasn't happened for me. And as far as this OCC knife goes. I was thinking it was a West Coast Choppers design. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING THAT IS OCC STAMPED!! I'm a Union electrician in the Orange County NY area and OCC was building their new shop and a new merchandise store and hired all non union labor. I used to be a fan of the show because they were hometown boys. I watched one episode when they actually built a Union inspired bike. I watched multiple episodes where Vinny talked about being an ex union electrician (don't even know if he works for them anymore). When it came time to build their new places there was no Union labor there. When it came time to put or shut up they went with scab labor (non union contractors that hire about 95% illegal immigrants. Where was their loyalty to the Unions then? The Tuttles are full of it. Like I said I'LL NEVER BUY ANYTHING STAMPED OCC!

OE, I agree, the handle design and the overall look of the knife are amazingly well executed. It's amazing how can take a classic design like the leek and turn it up to eleven!

Ray, the next time they use that excuse, call
bullshit.gif
.

THEBLADESHOPE is a limited-stocking retailer, so in order for them to have the knife in stock, they would have to go thru someone like Moteng or Blue Ridge Knives, a licensed Kershaw Distributor. This is why they're hit-or-miss.

It's not Kershaw's fault, they just can't find a wholesaler that will drop ship one or send them one to send to you. They charge your card as soon as you placed the order, whether they actually have the knife or not. Now take NGK on the other hand. Web site clearly states whether an item is in stock or not. If they say it's in stock, you can bet it's physically in their inventory. Mike once told me that they carry over 10,000 knives in their inventory. If not, and you order on a pre-order basis, your card won't be hit until they actually have the knife in their hands and are ready to ship it to you. Most likely, they'll also call or email you to see if you still want it. NGK's CS is right up there with Kershaw's. Mary Beth and Annie are great! That's why they get my business...

Thanks, Brad...;)

I pretty much had a handle on all the issues involved, but I'm just extremely patient. Once they started blaming Kershaw when the truth was that they just had no access to a distributor, I cancelled. 2 Brothers Knife Company already got one to me with fast shipping, great packaging, and fantastic customer service! :D

Also contrast The Blade Shop with NGK, where my S60V Blur pre-order was handled professionally, ethically (no pre-charge and with all the conditions clearly spelled out), and with obvious friendliness and great customer service!

I've learned my lesson...:o

Thanks for the dirt on OCC brother, I'm a member of IBEW local 38 here in Cleveland Ohio...
