hi all, was at a gun and knife show over the weekend and came across an ochs forge black knife. it was one of the modern ones with the blade marked ochs ent. 2000.always wanted one and heard it is a rugged auto opener that supposedly saw some use with certain members of our armed forces.good enough for our fighting men good enough for this humble electrician.that is until i drop it on the bumper of my truck which the way it fell did an unintentional spine whack test. to my disbelief the plunge lock failed. i take the knife apart to see what happened and the plunge button was mangeled as if it was made of soft copper and not steel. thats when i noticed the knife has no spacers. it is direct contact with blade and handle.in just the 100 or so openings i did had already started wearing the inside of the intregal bolsters.I think i will stay with my microtech ums and spyderco military. thanks all for letting me vent have a good memorial day. high

I recommend you contact Charley Ochs and arrange to send the knife to him to look at. http://www.oxforge.com/ Everyone and their brother has copied his black knife. If it is the real deal, I am sure he will take care of it for you.

Yep, give Charley a ring....best of luck and let us know how it goes.
