Anyone else not happy with the configuration of the October Buck of the month? They could have done so much better had they made it a three blade model. Had they made it like the the large three blade Stockman with the same materials of the Buck of the month I probably would have bought at least two of them. It is what it is I suppose though. Just venting frustration I guess. 🤷 I've been waiting for Buck to release a Stockman in a different blade steel than 420HC.

Nope, I like 2 bladed models and this is about the perfect bladeset for EDC for me. Only "improvement" I would've liked would be a full size sheepsfoot blade instead, or to work on a single spring. But, the small blade works fine for opening boxes and packages and the added thickness isn't annoying by any means.

Works great in the "clean blade, dirty blade" philosophy.

If it were a stockman, I wouldn't have bought it.

Yes, I would prefer a three blade with spey blade. I already have a couple of the two blade 2018 301s so another one didn’t have any appeal to me. I like the upgrade materials and for a long time I’ve been hoping Buck would up their game with some more exciting blade steels.

It's funny how we all have different tastes and opinions. I'm firmly in the each blade has it's own spring camp. As for them making it a stockman...well I think as a botm they're trying to be different. I would definitely support the 301 being in the custom shop

I'm definately a fan of 2 blades, 2 springs, but since they didn't use a full size sheepsfoot a slimmer profile would been cool. I would've preferred the full size blade though since opposing blades is my fave, but trapper patterns are a close 2nd.

The old 313 would be a stellar choice to bring back too.

I like the single blade 302 Solitaire the best but I'm okay with the two blade setup. Better than okay. I love these and have two of this years BOTM, two of last years BOTM and two BladeFourms knives. All perfect. If they keep making them I will keep buying them.

Yes. That is why I didn't buy any. It needs a spey blade.

O.B.
Same here, I didn't buy the October BOTM. I have grown quite fond of Buck's S45VN blade steel. If they would make a large three blade with the spey blade, canvas micarta scales, and S45VN that would be the bee's knees in my opinion. I would definitely buy the same knife with S30V too though. I have been disappointed in the BOTM knives this year. I usually end up with 3-4 at least. So far this year I have only been interested enough to buy February and June.

Same on the better blade steel. I have grown fond of Buck's S45VN but I also like their S30V and D2 as well. It's hard to beat the Bos heat treat it seems.
