Odd 110 sheath

I have that sheath in the mushroom closet....It's not for the 110...It's for a 547 and you can buy them from Buck...Leather or Nylon...

The scalloped top sheath came out with the 2 dots and 3 dot 110's with rivets at the top. The 500 Duke came out with that style sheath in 1979. DM

Any good information how to get the old green stuff out of the bottom of the sheath

I have gotten it out with Saddle Soap and a used toothbrush. Use plenty of water and swishing, then let it dry. Then apply an oil, or beeswax. I use the Kiwi leather oil and rub it in well on all sides. It can be found at good shoe stores and box stores. DM

Ok I’ll try the saddle soap . I bought a gallon jug of neatsfoot I been using it to condition my sheaths and leather handle knives. Thanks again

I was going to I just been using the neatsfoot oil my clean sheaths. I soaked my buck cabelas skinner in the oil for about three hours and it looks great now

I’m done cleaning on the sheath I’m very impressed with how clean I got the inside of it with the saddle soap it’s good stuff. After it dried I put neatsfoot oil on for two days and let it soak in sheath feels great and don’t stink

Good. Neats oil is rendered from the shin bone of cattle. DM

Every time I’ve done that with something leather. If there was any white spots at all. A couple weeks later it is covered in mold.

I was told by cleaning it you spread the mold like sowing seeds. Then the conditioner feeds it like miracle grow.

Now I spray with a fungicide first. Hope you have better luck.

The white spots look like paint speckles...I think you might be referring to dry rot...Watch that the fungicide doesn't have bleach in it, it'll destroy the leather....

With what bucklife did, the spots should flake off with his fingernail, sometimes....

Yes those are paint specks I didn’t even try to take them off wasn’t worried about them
