I picked this axe up today at an estate sale. There are no other markings on it other than this one and I am hoping it will be identifiable. The axe has been abused but is not terrible.
That sure is different than anything I've seen. It looks like a stylized H. Maybe try a Google image search, and you might get a hit on a cropped picture of just the symbol. Good luck.

It could be an A, but the top would be missing and doesn't look worn there. There was a thread on this forum of a lot of the vintage axe manufacturers, but I haven't been able to find it. That could give an idea of what makers to look up for stamps.
I thought of Autine brand axes, but not the same logo. If you figure it out, post back. I'd like to know more about the mark. Another possible source would be to look at yesteryear tools for anything that might be close. https://www.yesteryearstools.com/Yesteryears Tools/Home.html
