...on ebay, please check out auction no.6555310359. A couple of barlows, which look like Colonial/Imperials, but with Schrade stamped onto the bolsters. Are these just old Schrade's that I've never seen before, or are they something else.

Those are antique Schrade barlows, from the "SChrade Cut. Co." era, roughly 1910-WWII.

You will see them as these are with SCHRADE on the bolster, sometimes with plain bolsters, and occasionally with just a large "S" on the bolster.

Very nice. I didn't see the size anywhere. My price guide lists a 3 3/8 which I would guess is what these are. Mint condition they would be in the $120 range each but these obviously are not close to mint, although they should go for much more then 3.75! That's one reason I try to stay away from ebay, it's hard to try to evaluate a knife.

OTGuy,
These are the 2157 & 2157 3/4 from the 1926 reprint catalog.
So they have been around a long time.
Nice old pattern

Thanks guys for the info, I still have tons to learn about identifying older Schrades. They were in buisness for so long and made so many knives over the years, that I think I've only seen a fraction of what was made.

Same here OT Guy, same here. I am working my way back, teaching myself about the Schrade knives. It didn't take too long to peruse the space debris tactical folders, multihued, black coated etc. Old Timers and Uncle Henrys will be a continuing education for quite some time as I pick one pattern at a time to research. Each of them leads to the "open stock" knives, or "49ers" or 137-147 series, which trail and wind back to Imperial and to George Schrade. Ulster seems to have been a test bed for many Schrade patterns, and so far, only the 58OT Ulster has come my way. Just learning to recognize them all is a challenge, and I have a good day when I "discover" a new one I had not seen before. The Barlows are so plain-jane that they are nice. I ocassionally see a Barlow collection for sale on Ebay. Usually a hodge-podge of brands and conditions, but still interesting. And I must say that I learn far, far more here than I have given back.
