Odd Police Swedge Question

I have a few older Police Models and one in particular is very different from the rest in the blade swedge area as well as the thumb rest area.

Both blades pictured are of older non chamfered police models but as can be seen the top blade has a swedge more like that of the original worker models and it also has a more pronounced thumb rest over the hole like that of the older mariner.

Has anyone seen this before? the blade appears to be un altered.

note: both blades are the same size but the camera angle makes the top blade appear smaller.

thanks
dave

Nope, never seen THAT before. Also not pictured in the early ad reprints in The Spyderco Story. All those swedge grind lines are the expected straight angles. Possibly a unique QC flaw?

I've never noticed that on one before but it looks intentional to me not a QC accident but I am just guessing. I like the look of it though it glides into the blade instead of just cutting into it.

BTTT
anyone else ?
BTW. this is on an old original P.I.G police model if that makes a difference.

thanks
