So my wife has been temping at a local 3M division for a while now and she calls today while I'm at work and says that they're having an employee sale and they have some sanding belts, did I want any? Well hell yes! So I told her what would work on my KMG (2"x72") and that I'd LOVE to have her come home with some Cubitron or Regalite stuff at scratch & dent pricing.

So when I get home tonight she proudly hands me several packs of 180 grit Regalite belts in 2"x27" size! Oops! Just a small dyslexic moment.

I'm wondering, does anyone use a 2"x27" grinder? I don't think I've ever seen such a thing, but it appears that such a thing exists. I didn't post this in knifemaker supplies for sale as I wanted to learn more about this sized grinder, and these belts are not for sale (part of the deal with the employee sale - No resale purchases), although I might trade them to someone who could use them for some handle material or something else if anyone can use them.

She also brought home a few Maroon Scotchbrite belts that seem to be in the 2"x42"-44" range and wouldn't you know it, I sold my Craftsman 2"x42" machine just last weekend!

What kind of machine runs a belt like this? Any ideas?

The emloyee sale runs for one more day so I've given her a worn 2"x72" belt as a reference with a note taped to it that says Cubitron/Regalloy/Regalite/Trizact and a list of grits from 36-800 that I'd LOVE to get a bunch of. The employee deal was really sweet and even if I don't score any belts, I'll never have to buy Scotch Tape or Post-It notes again!
