Hope everyone is having an awesome 4th!
I was this many years old when I discovered you can spydieflick a 4-max scout...(and she drop shut, too...) 😎
(Seriously tho - you can find these for less than $80 if you comb through several websites - not the DLC version, but still an outstanding value IMO) I've decided I think the backspacers should switch back, what do you guys think? I think the OD green looks more like Grandma's 1972 avocado green rotary phone without the black for contrast... maybe a strategic RIT dye to enhance the green of the scales...? Also noticed the black lock bars both scratch off close to the same spot (see last photo), but I checked both liners and don't feel any burrs so I'm not sure what's up with that. Stay safe while you're blowing s*%t up! 🤘🤓

I bought my first one for $80. When gsm bought cold steel I bought a 2nd for backup. Like I'll ever need it, but from reports I've seen gsm has basically refused to warranty anything so...guess it's good to have a backup.

Also have 2 ad15 lites for the same reason! That's a fantastic knife as well. And my hollow ground ad10 is pretty amazing too.

I've owned hundreds of folders over my 75 years both custom and production, even some real Demko's. If I could only have one folder it would be the 4-Max Scout.

I'm so glad you posted this.

I bought a 4MAX Scout because I just couldn't see spending $500/$600/$900/etc. on an "overbuilt" folder...of ANY brand. (*I'm more into overbuilt fixies) Despite not knowing much about it, it has been a great knife. To be honest, I think it's in the "Top 3" sharpest knives I have ever pulled out of the box. That beast was a damned razor.

I'll oftentimes carry it as a "companion" knife when I know I'm gonna' be out in the boonies with one of my fixies. In that role it has excelled. For my particular tastes, it's a bit large for an EDC, and I much prefer my AD10. (*my "out after dark" folder and another CS I've fallen in love with) I think the SR1 is next on my wish list.

Ultimately, in regard to the 4MAX Scout, I have absolutely ZERO regrets.
