Something to entertain while we wait for the BOTM. I'm a little worried the October offering will be like the March offering.

Oh, what did Buck plan for me
For the special monthly sale?
A knife so great, hopefully,
Making others seem just pale.

How 'bout a Ranger with stag,
Even a fixed blade with bone?
Something 'bout which I can brag
And I'd be so proud to own?

Just please don't let it be true -
A blade I don't want to tote.
Spitfire with an orange hue
With black blade of Cerakote.

Well we got the mango bird what more do you want?
There is nothing really "wrong" with the Spitfire. It is a nice knife and the March BOTM offered it with a premium steel (at a high price). It did sell out, so at least a lot of other people thought it was worth it. My issue is that the Spitfire is already available in thousands of different combinations in the Custom Knife Shop. Why can't the BOTM be a variation on something we normally wouldn't see? Anyway, that's what I want.

Edit: I did get the Mango Bird because I thought is was an innovative concept.

"Why can't the BOTM be a variation on something we normally wouldn't see?"

Exactly the reason why I (and probably a lot of people) did a pass on the 113 April BOTM, and why it's still available.

With that knife, You can build something just as or more exciting in the Custom shop... S30V satin & Ironwood or Elk handle, for less $$.

I was able to get my hands on one of April's knives recently at about 45% MSRP. While nice, you're exactly right - custom shop is a way better value overall I think. Depends on how you feel about steels, I guess.

Yeah, I guess I was a chump and bought the April knife when it was offered. :)
