Odor and NATO Watch Bands?

Hi Everyone,

Before I go on, just want you to know I take care of myself, eat right, work out and bathe regularly (!), but for some reason when I wear some synthetic watch bands they get smelly after a short period and I just can't seem to get them clean enough after that.
My question is- has anyone experienced a problem with the NATO style watch bancs developing an odor, and in particular the Rhino or Zulu brands? I would really like a NATO band but I sometimes have problems with synthetic materials.
Any experiences with these bands would be helpful!

NATOs do get a bit whiffey. I used to regularly chuck mine in the washine machine with my clothes. Did the trick.
 
The woven synthetic bands on my Swiss Army watches stink to high heaven. I have three of them and I rotate them and occasionally toss the band in the wash to extend their servicable life.

The same thing happens with Teva sandals. Whoof!
 
When you wear fabric next to your skin ya gotta wash it once in a while. Fortunately they're easy to change and machine washable, but buy at least two.
 
Thanks for the information. I noticed the same thing with the Teva sandals- that's why I no longer buy Tevas. I've never experienced this problem with my Chacos.
As far as the watch bands are concerned; it's too bad the NATOs are like that. I've often thought of getting a Rhino but I hate the thought of strapping on a smelly watch! I've never had trouble with rubber, steel or even leather.

Does anybody know why Tevas stink more than any other sandal? They're famous for their stench.

its the molecular structure lol, nah i dont know but they sure do, my son has a pair and i wont let him get into the car with me wearing them, stinks to high heaven lol. he keeps them outside now.......
