Odorless oil

So I bought a Mercator Black Cat K55 recently, it had some dirt in the joints. No problem, went to get some 3 in 1 oil, put a drop in, it worked wonders. Except for one thing. It has a strong odor, like a machine shop. I wouldn't mind this, but others do. So what are some good oils that are odorless?

Nano, 10w. Available on Amazon. Actually bonds to the metal. I use it for everything from lubing pivots to coating blades.

Mineral oil, especially the 'food-safe' grade or USP laxative-grade stuff, is completely odorless and flavorless.

I recently picked up some Break Free CLP (under the 'Safariland' branding) to clean up & lube a gun I recently sold, and I've noticed it's odorless also (so far as I can tell). I've tried it out on one of my traditional pocketknives, and have had no unpleasant surprises.

Break Free CLP is good stuff. Plus, I've used 3 in 1 oil and never thought it had a terrible odor.? DM

Remoil, at least in the quantities that I've used it, has no oder. It's not food safe however so if you plan on using your knife (knives) near food I too recommend USP mineral oil.

Almost forgot, I have some liquid teflon dry film lube, but that stuff is more specialized. I'll only use it on bearing pivot equipped or wood/steel contact pivot knives like the Opinel. It's not food safe either, but again, I cannot detect any odor at the small quantities that I've used it.

clp is good stuff for lube and also acts as a solvent.
Do you know there are two kinds of 3-1 oil? The blue can is for electric motors. Never use the black stuff on a motor. As a matter of fact, I don't use the black can for anything.

I didn't know that. I use the black and white bottle on my hair clippers. It's always worked well. :)

+1 on the 10 weight Nano Oil. Great stuff and almost odorless. It isn't rated for food contact like plain mineral oil, but its MSDS shows that it is non-toxic and benign.
