Odyssey grind too thick - thin it out

The Odyssey is a great knife, one of the best in it's size/price range. I have the 181 model (ats-34). But, the primary bevel is too thick. I've thinned out the bevel by grinding
it down, by hand, with a cheap, small, sharpening stone. Once in a while I'll take the knife and rub the bevel down a bit more.
By doing this, the blade has been thinned out a fair bit and it cuts better.
So Joe, how about changing the grind on the Odyssey? Perhaps you could move the primary bevel higher up from the edge. Or maybe do a flat grind version for the specialty market.

Marty,

I think your suggestion regarding a thinner edge for the specialty market makes sense. We use an edge thickness that allows a proper Edge 2000, without making it too thin and therefore easy to break. About the only time you see a thicker edge is on the larger sheath knives.
I have always wanted to experiment and have a 475 with, lets say, a ten thousandths edge and an included angle of 15 degrees. I'll bet it would stay sharp a long time, as long as i am very careful not to hit bone.
One of these days.

Take care,
