Odyssey issue

I have one of the original Odyssey's in ATS-34 steel with a G-10 handle. This was one of the ones that could be taken apart(although i haven't).

The issue is that the pivot rotation seems to really stick. It is as if something more than easily cleaned dirt/grime has gotten in there(also, maybe it is just that).

Anyway, I was looking for a good way to take care of this. I don't want to take the knife apart if it will void the warranty(I apparently don't have the right tool, either). But, I want to be able to use it, and have it come open easily again.

If anyone has a good suggestion, please let me know.

Thanks

Seems to me that should be a warranty issue. I bet if you send it in, you'll get it back all nice and shiny and working great. I'm sure the Buck folks will tell you if I'm wrong

hey, thanks man....didn't really even think of that. but, to be without one of my knives? i guess i could temporarily part with it...if it will work better when it comes back...that would be super sweeeeet.

I would shoot some Rem Oil in there - its a teflon-based dry lubricant made for shotgun trigger mechanisms. I like it because it's not a petroleum product and because it comes out of the can under a good deal of pressure if you use the little straw they include. These two things mean you can really shoot the juice to any stray matter (in my case it's usually squirrel fur or some other organic matter!) and still pocket the knife afterwards.

Best,
the pup
